KDM MOTORS IMPORT – LIMITED ENGINE WARRANTY POLICY
Effective Date: Upon engine delivery
Applies To: New and remanufactured bare long‑block engines only
1. WARRANTY GRANT
KDM Motors Import Inc. (“KDM”) provides a limited warranty against defects in manufacturing of internal lubricated components only for a period of six (6) months from the date of delivery, as confirmed by signed delivery receipt or in‑store pickup confirmation.
This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser, is non‑transferable, and applies only when all terms and conditions of this policy are strictly met.
2. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS (MANDATORY)

The engine must be installed within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt.
Failure to install the engine within this period automatically voids the warranty, regardless of engine condition. -
Installation must be performed by a certified professional mechanic (ASE or equivalent).
Installation by any unlicensed or non‑certified individual voids all warranty coverage. -
Proof of installation is required and must include:
- Mechanic’s certification
- Shop name and contact details
- Installation invoice
- Date of installation
3. GEOGRAPHIC LIMITATION
This warranty is valid only within Canada and the United States.
Any engine that is:
- Shipped,
- Exported, or
- Operated
outside of Canada or the USA is immediately excluded from warranty coverage.
4. COVERED COMPONENTS
This warranty covers internal lubricated engine components only, including:
Core Components
- Pistons, piston rings, piston pins
- Crankshaft and main bearings
- Connecting rods and rod bearings
- Camshaft and camshaft bearings
Valve Train
- Intake and exhaust valves
- Valve springs, guides, and retainers
- Push rods, rocker arms, rocker arm shafts
- Timing gears and timing chains (if supplied with the long block)
5. BLOCK AND CYLINDER HEAD LIMITATION
- The engine block and cylinder head are covered only if damaged directly by a covered internal component failure.
- Cracks of any kind—including heat cracks, freeze cracks, stress fractures, or corrosion‑related cracks—are not covered.
- Damage caused by overheating, detonation, lubrication failure, or misuse is excluded.
6. NON‑COVERED ITEMS
The following components and costs are not covered under any circumstances:
- External components and accessories
- Gaskets, seals, covers, sensors, electronics
- Intake/exhaust manifolds
- Turbochargers or superchargers
- Oil pans, valve covers, timing covers
- Starters, alternators, ECUs, wiring, injectors
- Flywheels, clutches, pressure plates
- Cooling system components
- Labor, diagnostics, towing, storage, downtime
- Freight or shipping charges
- Incidental or consequential damages
7. REQUIRED BREAK‑IN PROCEDURES (MANDATORY)
Failure to follow break‑in procedures voids the warranty.
Customer must:
- Prime engine with oil before first startup
- Perform initial idle break‑in
- Replace oil and filter after initial run‑in
- Follow manufacturer‑recommended oil grade and capacity
- Avoid sustained high RPM, heavy load, towing, or aggressive driving during the first 1,000 miles
- Perform a 500‑mile maintenance inspection and oil change
Evidence of maintenance may be required.
8. AUTOMATIC WARRANTY VOIDS
Warranty coverage is automatically void in any of the following circumstances:
- Improper installation or improper timing
- Lack of lubrication or oil starvation
- Overheating or cooling system failure
- Detonation, burned pistons, or over‑revving
- Racing, competition, off‑road, fleet, or commercial use
- Vehicle modifications or non‑OEM configurations
- Disassembly, internal inspection, or repairs without written authorization from KDM
- Removal or tampering with serial plates or heat indicators
- Contaminated fluids, dirt, rust, or corrosion
- Storage or non‑use damage
- Accident, fire, flood, theft, vandalism, or acts of God
- Failure to communicate or submit required documentation within required timeframes
9. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE
To initiate a claim, customer must notify KDM immediately upon discovering an issue.
Required documentation includes:
- Original invoice
- Matching engine serial number
- Government‑issued photo ID of purchaser
- Certified mechanic report
- Photos AND video evidence of the alleged defect
Failure to provide complete documentation may result in claim denial.
Claims submitted after unreasonable delay may be rejected.
10. SOLE REMEDY & WARRANTY LIMITATION
KDM’s sole obligation under this warranty is at its exclusive discretion, to:
- Repair the engine,
- Replace the engine, or
- Issue a partial or full refund.
One‑Time Fulfillment
Once a warranty claim has been approved and fulfilled (repair, replacement, or refund), the warranty is fully satisfied and terminated.
Replacement engines carry no additional or renewed warranty coverage.
11. RETURN REQUIREMENTS
If a return is authorized:
- The complete engine must be returned unaltered
- Engine must be in substantially the same condition as delivered
- Missing components may reduce replacement or refund value
- No replacement or refund will be issued until inspection is completed
12. LEGAL DISCLAIMERS
This warranty is in lieu of all other express or implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
KDM Motors Import Inc. assumes no liability for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages.
13. POLICY MODIFICATION
KDM Motors Import Inc. reserves the right to modify this warranty policy at any time without prior notice.
The warranty version in effect on the date of purchase governs the transaction.
